Nico "PanzerFaust" Karper

Mijn naam is Nico Karper, ik ben 41 jaar en woon samen met mijn vrouw Nicole, onze hond en twee katten in Roermond. Ik werk als Digital Implementation & Development Manager bij NSH Group GmbH. In mijn vrije tijd ga ik graag uit eten en kook ik zelf ook graag – ik heb een grote passie voor eten en reizen. Daarnaast ben ik vaak op het water of in de natuur te vinden, want ik houd van wakeboarden en downhill mountainbiken. Boksen is dus echt iets totaal anders dan ik gewend ben.

In 2015 deed mijn vrouw mee aan het Business Boksgala en sindsdien is ze actief betrokken bij de organisatie. Daardoor ben ik ieder jaar aanwezig geweest en heb ik van dichtbij gezien hoe bijzonder dit evenement is – voor de deelnemers, het publiek én natuurlijk voor het goede doel: KiKa.

Elk jaar vroegen mensen me: “Wanneer doe jij eens mee?” En nu is het zover. Ik durf de uitdaging eindelijk aan te gaan. Zonder enige ervaring in boksen wordt dit een flinke mentale en fysieke test, maar ik kijk er enorm naar uit. En als ik op deze manier iets kan bijdragen aan de strijd tegen kinderkanker, dan is het elke training meer dan waard.

My name is Nico Karper, I’m 41 years old and I live in Roermond with my wife Nicole, our dog, and two cats. I work as a Digital Implementation & Development Manager at NSH Group GmbH. In my free time, I enjoy dining out and cooking – I have a big passion for food and travel. You’ll often find me out on the water or in nature, as I love wakeboarding and downhill MTB. Boxing is definitely something completely different from what I’m used to.

In 2015, my wife participated in the Business Boxing Gala and has been actively involved in organizing it ever since. That’s why I’ve attended the event every year and have seen up close how special it is – for the participants, the audience, and of course, for the good cause: KiKa (Children Cancer-Free Foundation).

Every year, people would ask me: “When are you joining?” And now, the time has come. I’m finally taking on the challenge. With no prior experience in boxing, this is going to be a serious mental and physical test, but I’m really looking forward to it. And if I can contribute to the fight against childhood cancer in this way, then every training session will be more than worth it.
